Bad Lauchstädt is a town in Saxony Anhalt at the river Laucha. It is known for its beautiful palace, built by the Bishops of Merseburg in the 16th century. From 1700 on it became a spa town with mineral springs. Later, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe was a frequent guest and even inaugurated the local theatre.
