Ostheim vor der Rhön is a town in Lower Franconia. It was founded in 525 and later belonged to the county of Henneberg. From 1945, the town was a Bavarian exclave in Thuringia. The fortified church in Ostheim has a double-ring wall and is the largest and best-preserved fortress church in Germany.
