Untermerzbach is a small municipality in Lower Franconia. It was owned by the Freiherren von Rotenhan for many centuries and belonged to the Prince-Bishopric of Bamberg. The town centre impresses with beautiful half-timbered buildings from the 18th and 19th century, while a castle towers over the town.
