Lichtenfels is a town in the so-called “Gottesgarten am Obermain” in Upper Franconia. It was considered the centre of the German basket trade and therefore calls itself Deutsche Korbstadt (German basket town). The towns beautiful market square is surrounded by many half-timbered houses and two city gates.
