Bakewell is a market town in the Peak District in Derbyshire on the River Wye. The town that was first mentioned in 949 and is mentioned in the Doomsday Book is well known for its local Bakewell pudding. It is close to Chatsworth House, the seat of the Duke of Devonshire, which belongs to the Cavendish family.
