Wismar is a former Hanseatic city in the north of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in the Bay of Wismar. The city’s landmark is the Wasserkunst, a fountain on the one-hectare market square. Together with Stralsund, the old town with many Gothic brick buildings forms a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
