Lincoln is a cathedral city in the East Midlands. The city was founded as a fortress by the Romans soon after 48 AD. Lincoln is famous for its cathedral which for 238 years was the tallest building in the world, the castle built by the Normans, and the Magna Carta, of which Lincoln owns one of four existing copies.
