Rostock is a Hanseatic city on the Baltic Sea and the most populous city in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. As early as 1259, it was part of the Wendish League, which is considered to be the origin of the Hanseatic League. The largest German cruise port is now located in Rostocks’ Warnemünde district.
